Machine down? Call our breakdown line

Three decades of machine tool engineering

A family-run, 100% black-owned engineering company that started with on-site breakdowns in 1991 and grew into one of KwaZulu-Natal’s best-equipped reconditioning workshops.

Our story

Machine Tool Refabrication and Sales cc was established in November 1991, trading at first as RCL Machine Tool Services. The founder, Mr Ramkisson, brought more than two decades of machine tool service experience to the business and built it on rapid-response breakdown work.

In 1995 we bought a 4-metre slide-way grinder with a 12 m grinding length and 4 m height — a major investment that let us take on complete overhauls in-house. Today our workshop handles everything from conventional lathes to CNC machines, alongside site work for process plants across the province.

How we work

  • We measure before we quote, and quote before we start.
  • Rebuilds are tested against Schlesinger accuracy standards.
  • We restore to the original manufacturer’s specification.
  • Safety is non-negotiable, on site and in the workshop.
